I’m an experienced teacher and former headteacher with a background in specialist education, including working with autistic children and young people. My approach is built around a simple idea: learners make the best progress when teaching is adapted to the individual, rather than expecting the individual to adapt to the teaching. I focus on building confidence, understanding and independence alongside subject knowledge. I aim to make sessions engaging, practical and approachable, breaking learning into manageable steps and finding different ways to explain something when the first approach doesn’t click. My experience spans classroom teaching, specialist education, leadership, outdoor and experiential learning, and home education. This gives me a broad toolkit for supporting learners…
