Check the optional topic
Paper 3 includes practical skills and data analysis, plus one optional topic. Tell your tutor which option you study so the lesson plan reflects your actual entry.
Set up the model
Sketch the situation, label quantities and choose a direction. Explain which effects are being ignored and whether that is reasonable.
Use mathematics carefully
Track prefixes, units and significant figures. Rearrange an equation symbolically before adding numbers where that makes the reasoning clearer.
Interpret the result
Ask whether the size and direction of the answer make physical sense. Relate a graph or calculation back to the original situation.
If you repeatedly lose a mark, bring several examples rather than just one. A tutor can look for a shared issue, such as vague explanations of energy transfer or missing steps in an uncertainty calculation. A focused sequence of practice can then address that issue while keeping the rest of your revision moving.
Yes. Ask about practising the specific algebra, graphs or trigonometry required by your current physics work. The aim is to connect the mathematical step to its physical meaning.
No. Online lessons can support practical understanding and exam preparation, but the school or exam centre manages supervised practical assessment.
Use the free 15 minutes to discuss your option, a difficult question and your goals. Ask how the tutor would help you move from guided practice to independent problem solving.
