How we vet every tutor on Klasu

Every tutor on Klasu goes through a multi-stage verification process before they can take on students. We believe UK families deserve transparency about exactly who is teaching their children.

Our verification pipeline

  1. ID & address checks — passport or driver's licence plus proof of UK address.
  2. Two professional references — independently contacted and verified by our safeguarding team.
  3. Qualification verification — degree certificates and PGCE/QTS records are cross-checked with awarding bodies.
  4. Enhanced DBS check — mandatory for anyone working with under-18s. Badged on the tutor's public profile.
  5. Safeguarding training — annual renewal covering online lesson best practice and child protection.

What verified badges mean

  • DBS Checked — holds an Enhanced DBS certificate within the last 3 years.
  • Qualified Teacher Status — QTS/PGCE or equivalent qualification confirmed with awarding body.
  • Experienced Tutor — 100+ hours of verified Klasu lessons delivered with average rating 4.5 or higher.
