Explain, rather than list
Choose a cause and show the link between an event and its consequence. Then consider why that cause mattered alongside other factors.
Question the evidence
Explore who created a source, what it suggests and what other knowledge helps you judge it. Avoid assuming that an opinion makes a source useless.
Revise connected stories
Create a short sequence of turning points, then use it to answer a change or significance question. A timeline becomes useful when you can explain the connections.
One board, different routes
J410 combines period, depth, thematic and historic environment studies. J411 includes British history, world history and History Around Us. Your chosen topics and, where relevant, the studied site should shape the resources your tutor uses.
Ask before booking. Send your course code, option titles and a recent marked answer. Board experience does not mean that every tutor teaches every option.
Practise planning a judgement, selecting relevant evidence and explaining why it supports that judgement. A fresh question then checks whether you can adapt the approach.
Use the free 15-minute introduction to discuss your course, confidence and priorities. You might start with one difficult question rather than a whole revision programme.
