Connecting Stripe to get paid and go live

How to connect your Stripe payout account so your Klasu profile goes live and you can get paid — plus what to do if you see the red 'Action Required' banner.

To go live on Klasu and get paid, you need to connect a Stripe payout account. Stripe is the secure payments provider we use to send your earnings to your bank. Until Stripe is fully connected, your profile stays hidden from students and you can’t be booked — so this is the final, important step. It usually takes about 5 minutes.

Part 1 — Connecting your Stripe account

What you’ll need: your bank account details and a form of photo ID (passport or driving licence), in case Stripe asks to verify your identity.

1 Open the checklist item on your dashboard

Once your application is approved, go to your Tutor Dashboard. In the Complete Your Profile checklist, click the Connect Stripe account (to receive payments) item (marked Required):

2 Check your country, then connect

This opens your Payment Details page. First, make sure your Country/Region is correct:

Your country determines Stripe onboarding requirements (bank details, tax forms, ID verification).

⚠️ Change country before connecting Stripe. Once connected, this is locked to match your Stripe account.

Then, under Payment Setup → Stripe Connect, click the black Connect Stripe Account button:

By connecting, you’ll be redirected to Stripe to set up your account. You can disconnect at any time from your Stripe dashboard.

3 Complete the steps on Stripe

You’ll be securely redirected to Stripe (you’ll see a “Let’s get started” page). Follow Stripe’s short checklist — it will ask for details such as your phone number, email, bank account and ID verification. You enter these directly with Stripe; Klasu never sees this information.

Once Stripe confirms everything, your Klasu profile goes live automatically — you don’t need to toggle anything. We’ll email you to confirm you’re live. 🎉

Part 2 — If you see a red “Action Required” banner

If your Stripe onboarding didn’t finish, or Stripe needs a bit more information, you’ll see this red banner at the top of your dashboard:

⚠️ Stripe Account Restriction – Action Required

Your Stripe account has restrictions that prevent you from receiving payments.

Reason: Charges not enabled – verification required

You can still accept bookings, but you will NOT receive payment until this is resolved. Any payments will be held in your Stripe account and automatically transferred to your bank once you fix the restrictions.

What it means: this is completely normal. Stripe occasionally needs one extra detail (such as a photo ID, an address, or bank confirmation) to verify your account and keep payments secure.

What to do:

  1. Click the red Fix in Stripe Dashboard button — it takes you straight back to Stripe to complete the missing step.
  2. Provide whatever Stripe asks for (usually a quick upload or a detail to confirm). Stripe may also email you directly with the specifics.
  3. That’s it — once Stripe is satisfied, your profile goes live automatically and you’re ready to earn.

Frequently asked questions

Why isn’t my profile showing in search yet?
Your profile goes live automatically once Stripe is fully connected. If you haven’t finished connecting Stripe (or you have the red banner above), your profile stays hidden until it’s resolved.
Is my bank information safe?
Yes. Your details are entered directly with Stripe, a globally trusted payments provider. Klasu never sees or stores your bank or ID details.
Can I still get booked while Stripe is restricted?
You can still accept bookings, but any payments are held safely in your Stripe account and released to your bank automatically once you resolve the restriction.
I picked the wrong country — can I change it?
Change your Country/Region before connecting Stripe. Once connected, it’s locked to match your Stripe account. If you’re already connected and it’s wrong, contact support.
